That Place in Ogunquit

We are thrilled about this one! If you’ve been to our restaurant, you probably already know we’re big fans of local artist Tom Glover. We have his paintings at the restaurant, we have them at home… basically, we love his work!

So when Tom called and said he wanted to donate a piece to the auction, we were over the moon! And what a piece - “Sunlit Dry Dock.”

We are so excited to have this beautiful painting in the auction. Thank you, Tom!

Our great friends Peggy and Kevin drove this stunning David Gordon all the way from Connecticut to donate for our fundraiser.
You can look David up, but here’s a little info:

American fine artist whose mixed-media paintings are widely recognized for blending reality with abstraction, showcasing a distinct signature style of simplified lines, dramatic textures, and vibrant colors.

Well, this email came in today.

Most of you already know the story behind Rick’s wild hair and why it’s especially wild right now. So the “Do better!!!” at the end really got us.

A longtime customer texted and asked if there was going to be an art auction at the fundraiser. I said, “Yes, sir!” And then Harvey showed up with this - a stunning, large, limited-edition serigraph by Hessam Abrishami, The Entertainment, dated 1996.

All I can say is, “Thank you, Harvey!”

And for everyone asking - no tickets are needed! Just come on down. The event starts at 2 p.m. on September 29th and we’ll be going all day! ❤️

We are once again reminded of what an amazing community we have ❤️ A huge thank you to everyone who has already stepped up - donating incredible items for the silent auction, making donations, offering to help and spreading the word.

Rick may be the driving force behind this fundraiser, but it’s all of you who make it possible. It’s pretty incredible to see what can happen when a community comes together for something that matters.

So happy to see our friend Lex at That Place last night. ❤️ He’s back in Ogunquit to play at LeavittFest on Monday, and today we happened to catch him practicing a little “Chicken and Rice.” 😊
