Key Responsibilities
Active Leadership: Maintain high visibility. You are expected to "touch" tables regularly, expedite during rushes. Cover over any FOH position (Host, Server, etc.) as needed or find coverage for any call outs.
Guest Experience: Ultimate accountability for cleanliness, speed, and accuracy. Personally resolve all guest issues and coach staff on service excellence.
Financial Oversight: Manage labor costs to appropriate goal set by the owner, and food costs. Maintain inventory and communicate needs directly to the owner.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure ServSafe standards, health codes, and labor laws are strictly followed. Monitor facility safety (fire codes, eg. ensure all marked exits are unlocked whenever a customer is in the building
Team Management: Supervise all staff. You are responsible for identifying performance issues, issuing verbal warnings, and ensuring all tasks are completed correctly. Verify that all employees have a valid food handlers permit and maintain a copy of their card.
Communication: Schedule weekly meetings with the owners to discuss performance metrics that include food costs, labor costs and other expenses.
Requirements
Availability: Must clock in/out for all shifts and provide additional coverage as needed.
Experience: ServSafe Manager Certified with a deep understanding of food/labor cost math.
Attitude: A "no task is too small" mentality, from cleaning restrooms to checking expiration dates.
