One year. 🤍
It's hard to believe that Savy Jo's has officially been open for a full year. Here are some throwback photos of our first few weekends when we opened.
Before anything else, we have to thank our incredible staff. They have rolled with every change, every busy night, every adjustment, and every new idea this first year has thrown at us. From communicating on walkie talkies to everything in between. They have worked incredibly hard, and we couldn't have done this without them.
This past year has taught us one thing more than anything else: don't give up. There have been plenty of late nights, early mornings, moments where I stood on the cook's line drenched in sweat wondering if we'd made the right decision, and even times Jordan and I questioned our own sanity. Running a business with the person you're about to marry isn't always easy—but somehow, we've made it work.
I'll never forget our very first weekend open. That Sunday morning, we took our kids to get fried cheesecakes because they hadn't even had a chance to eat at the restaurant during opening weekend. We were exhausted, but we knew we were building something worth fighting for.
When we first pitched this crazy dream to Jenny Thomas and her wonderful dad, they believed in us before they had any reason to. They've supported this vision every step of the way, and we'll always be grateful for the role they've played in helping make Savy Jo's what it is today.
And then there's all of you. You've turned a little restaurant in Odum, Georgia into a place people travel to every weekend. You've waited in line, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with us, supported our small business, and become part of our story. This isn't just our anniversary—it's yours too.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this first year one we'll never forget. We can't wait to keep growing, keep learning, and keep serving dishes you'll be talking about long after the plates are empty.
Here's to Year One... and to many more. ❤️
