Been a little quiet lately because it’s been a lil busy! 🥳🍰

Mercer has felt like my very own yellow brick road and I couldn’t have loved it more if I tried. Being a student entrepreneur is a very unique experience — challenging, but one of the most rewarding times. I am so grateful for the opportunity to study and learn while also growing my own business.

At Mercer, we say that everyone majors in changing the world. Before I came to Mercer, I thought changing the world only included those who were on track to find a cure for cancer, solve world hunger, or do some other grand gesture the world deems as world-changing. (While those are certainly necessary and important, my gifts did not fall in that category🤪) Now, I’m leaving here very grateful that I know how to change the world in my own ways — through cake, of course.

Everyone deserves a piece of cake. Everyone has a seat at the table. We all carry our own gifts. What’s important is we go out and use them for good. Use the gifts to change the world in your own ways. 🩷

Cake it with Chloe is featured in the Georgia Farm Bureau Neighbors magazine!!! 🥳🥳🥳

I couldn’t be more excited or honored for this spread. I’m even more excited to share it with you all! 🩷

And — what a full circle moment! I had the absolute pleasure of interning with Georgia Farm Bureau’s Public Relations department the fall of 2024 — the same semester I released the cake mix! Outside of the invaluable skills I was able to learn as an intern, the people at GFB are good folks, y’all. I am so thankful for the people here, how they helped my experience as a student during my internship, how they have supported me as an entrepreneur, and how they continue to invest in me as a person.

Quick. Simple. Delicious. Because everyone deserves a piece of cake.

That’s exactly how and why this gluten free cake mix was created. It doesn’t have to be perfect or elaborate just as this cake is here.

The belief that everyone deserves a piece of cake came from my own experience on my birthday. After discovering I had a gluten allergy, birthday celebrations weren’t quite so easy. The gluten free options I tried were poor tasting and a hassle to make. Friends and family were never sure how to make anything gluten free, and so some birthday dinners resulted in no dessert — crazy, right?!? Because everyone should have a piece of cake on their birthday! At least that’s what I believe. And I knew there had to be a way to make it easier.

The belief that everyone deserves a piece of cake on your birthday evolved into everyone deserves a piece of cake, period. That’s why this cake mix is something so near and dear to my heart. Because I always want you to feel like you have a seat at my table. I hope you feel celebrated, loved, and seen. And I hope this mix is a way to create that opportunity in your own spaces. No matter how busy you are. No matter where you are. And no matter the dietary restriction. 🩷

So, on this birthday, I’m extra thankful for this strong belief that everyone deserves a piece of cake. I’m thankful for the people that I’m so humbled to have at my table. And, of course, I’m thankful for a delicious piece of gluten free cake — made with Cake it with Chloe cake mix 😉

Excited to share Cake it with Chloe’s debut in the Mercer Cluster! Go Bears! 🐻🧡

Chloe Paulk ‘26 started her first business, “Chloe’s Sweets,” selling baked goods when she was a 10-year-old saving up for a car once she turned 16. But what started as a side gig became a passion project that Paulk has carried throughout grade school and college.

I am SO EXCITED to share that you can soon find Cake it with Chloe gluten free cake mix in select Piggly Wiggly locations! 🐷🍰

Since developing a gluten allergy and growing up in a small, rural community, I’ve had a strong passion that everyone deserves a piece of cake — period. Dietary restrictions and location should not matter! I’m so excited that Piggly Wiggly is going to help this mission further come to life to reach and equip more friends to celebrate and gather their people around the table.

Be on the lookout, South Georgia folks! We are headed your way!!! 🥳

If you were to ask me why I’m such a big advocate for including everyone around your table, I’d tell you it’s because of this woman right here. She made sure everyone knew they were welcome at her table — it didn’t matter who you were, she’d tell you to pull up a chair. She loved so big, so effortlessly, and so beyond understanding.

She celebrated everything, big or small, and she made life the most fun. Bonus points if the celebration included cake. She was the epitome of a southern lady — classy, graceful, kind, loving, and a servant if I’ve ever seen one. My biggest hope is to be just like her, and if I become even half the woman she was I will be the second best woman to ever walk the earth. She will always be the very best in my eyes.

She made me believe I was the best baker there ever was and loved to hear me talk about my business. She’d video me as I decorated cakes, drive me to make deliveries, and ask me when I was going on TV. She taught me that a good table was one that was always set, but the best table is the one surrounded with all your people.

She effortlessly welcomed people in, made life fun, and she sure loved big. The legacy and impact she leaves behind is unlike any other I’ve ever seen. She is the best woman I know and it was my greatest honor and privilege to hold her hand as she met Jesus face to face. What a woman! She lived The Good Life and preached it to those around her. What a blessing it is to be her granddaughter. The values she taught me are ones I carry in every aspect of my life. Rest easy, Mame. If anyone deserves it, it sure is you. 🕊️🩷
