My passion for smoking meats developed years ago when I first witnessed our uncle, Leon (aka "Big Lee"), and his incredible skills on the smoker in the Mississippi Delta, Greenwood to be exact. But beyond his sheer talent, Uncle Leon had such a joy for cooking and, moreover, for sharing his amazing food with others. We lost Uncle Leon in October of 2012 and his passing has made me more conscious o

f not only how well I cook, but also how many people I share this gift with. He was an amazing man and he still inspires us today.

They used their vacation days for THIS... 🤯🔥

When folks drive all the way up from Miami—shoutout to the 305! 🌴—just to get a taste of Big Lee’s, you already know it’s a great day. But when they tell me they’re actively cashing in their hard-earned PTO and vacation days specifically to come eat our food? Man, that is beyond humbling.

These legends told me the food is so overwhelmingly good that it’s literally a crime, and I need to be locked up for it! 🤣 Hey, I’ll gladly do the time if it means serving up authentic Big Lee’s style barbecue to people who truly appreciate the craft.
