It’s been a while since I commented on MY page for The Oasis RESTAURANT not Cafe as I have bitten my tongue and allowed the new owners to let their customers use it. This was only at Lisa’s behest as I consider what they did to us and our memories reprehensible! But now we have a troll named Laura Moore playing games and thinking she’s funny when she knows nothing about our situation and what happened. So let me clear the air here. To give you some background, Lisa, myself and her mother worked there for a long time under the previous owner who came in one day and told us she was closing the place. As everyone that worked there was about to be out of a job and many had children we ( some would say stupidly) decided that we would BUY the restaurant and name and keep it open so everyone would be okay! Both of our families and us put everything we had into it and it cost us everything! It worked for almost 3 years but due to financial problems we couldn’t do it anymore and had to close down! We did not sell the restaurant or name that we paid 50000 dollars for and we lost everything and had to file for bankruptcy and just last month finished paying taxes to the state that we have paying for almost 3 years while still trying to support our family! It’s been a long hard struggle and anyone who thinks that is funny has a very sick sense of humor! The only thing we had left was this page so we could stay in touch with our former customers who we considered family also! When the new owners opened it I was appalled that they would use our name and anything we introduced such as scrapple without even consulting us as we had paid for the name and they didn’t, but they got around that by changing it from Oasis Restaurant to Oasis cafe so there was nothing I could do about it! These people couldn’t even have the ingenuity to come up with their own unique name they just pilfered ours for free so they could try and get instant publicity for it as people wondered if it was us again! In my mind that was some really lowdown and dirty underhandedness! They could have at least asked for our blessing even if we weren’t renumerated ! Knowing how sweet Lisa is she probably would have talked me into it as she came on here when they first opened and wished them the best! I wasn’t real happy about it as we had put our hearts and souls and all our money to buy it and walked away with nothing and still owing money for it! But we didn’t even get any consideration from these so called fine people!As if that wasn’t enough they tracked us down to where worked and told us we needed to take this page down as we were costing them money! Imagine the gall to do that after offering us nothing! We can see where their priorities lie, in money not people obviously! Lisa wanted to do it but I refused as it is a very sore point with me that someone would do that to us! But still all this time I have said nothing,but I was forced to now as I will not stand by and have people tell us that we are lame and just need to get over it like our situation didn’t matter at all! So now we have a troll trying to advertise their new website on our page and I’ll be damned if anyone thinks I’ll allow this after we were treated like we were! So there you go folks, the real story posted straight from the horses mouth! My wife would say the other end but that’s her! I am not asking anyone to not eat there even though we were just swept under the carpet like we were nothing, but to at least show some sympathy and understanding with what happened to us! To all our former customers we love and miss you all! Oh, one more thing! You’re welcome for the expensive huge mirror That I left in the back room for free because I didn’t have anyone to help me carry it out as we had to clean out that entire restaurant ourselves! But I guess that doesn’t matter either! This is probably the last time I ever post anything on here but if anyone ever needs to get in touch with us this is where to do it as I refuse to take our page and memories down! Sincerely, Mike
