🚨 TAY HO GOT HIT THIS MORNING.
4:38 AM. A car ran into our restaurant.
We are 15 years in Oakland’s Chinatown. Mother. Daughter. Small business. Oakland Community, this is what we woke up to.
This is part of a wave hitting Oakland businesses right now — and today, it was us.
There is no money in a restaurant. There never was. There’s sacrifice, early mornings, late nights, love for this community, and a whole lot of hope. That’s what lives inside these walls.
To whoever did this. What were you thinking? Citibank is across the street and they’re federally funded.
To Oakland, we need you right now. Be kind to one another. Look out for your neighbors. This has got to stop.
We are shaken. We are hurt. But we are still here.
Tay Ho is Oakland. And Oakland doesn’t quit.
