The custom designs printed on many of our jute bags start out as drawings by Thompson. We send the designs to exporters who print them on the bags. We used to send designs that had some connection to the origin country, but these days we send whatever seems like a good idea at the time, relevance be damned. The fun thing is that the jute bags are printed with a variety of methods, so you never know exactly what you're going to get on the other side. Nowadays some bags are screen printed, but many are still printed with linocuts and various types of hand made stamps. Here's some photos of the bags along with the source drawings (in sticker form). Note the two different "creatures" which illustrate the range of what you get back!

What's all the fuss about gesha, and is it worth it? It's wildly subjective, and the best way to answer that question is by trying the coffee yourself. Behmor users, check out this older roast profile (from 2018, on a 1600+), which may not translate directly but still offers a lot of good insight to roasting gesha, cupping it and chasing those desired notes they're so known for. 🌸
