Every coffee drink at The Crown is 25 cents cheaper right now, and will stay that way for about 60 days 🥳

In 2025 we paid tariffs on the coffee we served. The courts later found those tariffs were never authorized, and Customs has started returning the money.

Our share, on the coffee that crossed this counter, came to about $2,500. We’re handing it back the only way a café can, by taking it off the price of a drink until the full amount is returned.

We also published exactly how we calculated it, down to the roasting weight loss and the daily sales math. If you run a café, it’s yours to use.

Starting July 1, every coffee drink at The Crown is 25¢ off for the next 60 days.
 
Earlier this year, import tariffs increased the cost of the coffee we served. Like much of the coffee industry, we adjusted our menu prices to reflect those added costs.
 
Now that U.S. Customs and Border Protection has begun returning those duties to importers, we’re passing our share back to you. Every coffee drink will be 25¢ off until we’ve returned approximately $2,500, The Crown’s share of the refunded duties. Based on our calculations, that’ll take about 60 days.
