Over the last few days, I’ve had a couple of people leave negative remarks regarding my use of AI for advertising and social media posts. I want to clear up a few things.

AI does not create my menu.
AI does not cook my food.
AI does not spend the long hours prepping, cleaning, shopping, testing recipes, serving customers, or working late nights.

What AI does help me do is create quick promotional material and posters so I can let the public know where The Mudcat will be located and what we’re serving. It is simply a tool that helps save time on advertising so I can spend more time doing what truly matters — developing my menu and making quality food for my customers.

I honestly wish we could go back to a time where people had respectful conversations with one another instead of immediately turning to social media to criticize someone simply because they disagree with how they do things. I firmly believe that if someone has an issue with another person, it should be discussed respectfully and directly. People can agree to disagree without tearing each other down publicly.

As a small business owner, times are hard. I’ve kept my prices the same for the last three years while food and supply costs continue to rise. I work extremely hard to give my customers the best product I possibly can. I buy ingredients I’m proud to serve. If I wouldn’t feed it to myself or my grandkids, I won’t serve it to my customers. That means I often pay more for premium products because I truly care about the quality of what I’m doing.

I take every comment — good or bad — to heart, because I genuinely care about my customers and my business. But realistically, I understand I cannot please everyone.

At the end of the day, if you don’t like my AI-designed posters, that’s okay. You’re entitled to your opinion. But instead of trolling people online, sometimes it’s better to simply keep scrolling.

Would you rather I spend hours designing a poster to tell you where I’ll be parked, or spend those hours in the kitchen creating better food and improving my menu?

I know where my priorities are, and they will always be with my customers and the food I serve.
