Four years ago, I first visited June's Breakfast + Patio and described it as “a vibe.” 😎
Looking back now… honestly, that description still feels completely accurate.
What Liz & Jonathan Welzbacher created in Shiloh has evolved into so much more than just a breakfast spot. Inspired by west coast wine-country bistros, relaxed gathering spaces, curated hospitality, and intentional atmosphere, June’s has quietly become one of the Metro East’s most distinctive dining experiences. ☕️🥂🌿
From the patio culture and locally-inspired food program to specialty dinners, curated events, in-house bread making, craft beverages, and community-focused experiences — June’s continues to evolve while still staying true to its identity.
One of the coolest examples of that evolution is their upcoming 🍻 June’s Beer Festival 🍻 happening Saturday, June 6 from 5-8PM!
The event will feature live music plus pours from breweries across Illinois and the Metro East including:
🍺 Scratch Brewing
🍺 Millpond Brewing
🍺 White Rooster
🍺 Mississippi Culture
🍺 Old Herald Brewing
🍺 Shoehorn Brewing
…and more!
VIP tickets include:
✔️ June’s branded tasting glass
✔️ Reserved seating area
✔️ Unlimited sample pours
✔️ Rare bottle tastings
Food by Executive Chef Erin Ortiz will feature locally sourced bratwurst, smoked meats, fried goodies, and fresh seasonal sides. 🔥🌭🍖
I just published a new longform CHAD About Town Substack revisiting June’s four years later — diving into the evolution of the restaurant, the atmosphere, the patio culture, and why it has become one of the Metro East’s most unique gathering spaces.
🍻 Plus details on their upcoming June 6 Beer Festival.
