The Green Room Irish Pub

The Green Room Irish Pub Green Room Irish Pub October 05 - March 07 The Green Room was my true love, and I miss it like crazy. We opened it with no concept of how to run a bar.

But I knew how to throw blow out house parties and we got the place for free, so I had to run with it. The Cherrio Tavern had been there for decades, and survived on $1 Schlitz drafts and Wild Irish Rose. It averaged $45-$70 total rings for entire shifts. It was a true grind cleaning it of filth, both in matters of dirt and clientele. Crack and cocaine deals were done casually on the bar, prostitu

tes took guys in the alley, it was insane. But for the most part we did it. Unfortunately, in the process, we did alienate the good clientele that they had there. They opened at 9am and had an unbelievable day crowd of regulars. But we were so obsessed with changing the concept of the place that we pushed them out with the trash, which I will always regret. When we opened, we had an overwhelming response. People who would never come to Greenville came in like you wouldn't believe. People walked for blocks and waited in line to come in. The parties were crazy, and we were consistently over capacity! I'm pretty sure I was the first person in this area to do Beer Pong in a bar lol! We kept the drinks priced fairly, and tried to make everyone feel at home. It was probably the best time of my life and I thank everyone who was a part of it, my awesome employees and the best customers ever.

New Years Eve 06 in 07 was one of my favorite nights ever. I wasnt expecting much of a turn out do to some bigger events, and at like 1130 all the regulars showed up, hopefully some of u are reading this now. We ended up with about 30 people and we brought in the New Year. Makes me smile thinking about it.

At one point the Norwich Police came because someone had ratted that my Liquor License had expired tge prior week and i didnt have time to renew it. I told the respinding srgt that the state told me i had 30 days to get it renewrd. He knew it was a b.s. line but told his officers that it was their duty to prove me wrong not mine to prove them wrong and said happy new year and left. Lots of love to Npd on that :)

EVERYONE BE SAFE TONIGHT!

This day in October 2005 I took possession of The Green Room. It was still Cheerio Tavern for a bit, but it was the begining of the adventure. October 2006 was the best Halloween party this town has ever seen. I love this time of year. Have a great Halloween everyone!
