Senior spotlight 🌟 ⭐️ 💫
Alizabeth has been with us from the very beginning. She designed the AJ’s logo when she was just 15 years old and has joined us on this journey to honor her big sister, Alli. Through her experience at AJ’s, Alizabeth has learned valuable lessons in time management, taking responsibility for her mistakes and learning from them, and recognizing that it’s perfectly fine to ask others for help.

Balancing her job at AJ’s with high school allowed her to gain a better understanding of the “real world.” During the day, she interacted with peers her own age, while afternoons gave her the opportunity to connect with people of all ages. This helped her build confidence in communicating with a diverse range of individuals, which was previously a challenge for her.

As she heads off to college at Kent State University, Alizabeth is most excited about the curiosity and independence that come with starting this new chapter. The many opportunities and chances to form new relationships will help her grow as she transitions into adulthood.

Throughout high school, she made the honor roll, was a member of the National Honors Society, and served as secretary for both band and choir this year. She has also participated in numerous theater performances since the age of five.

Alizabeth plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology and musical theatre and eventually obtain a master’s in psychology. She looks forward to continuing to learn about the world as she strives to become the best version of herself.

Gavin has been with AJ’s since its start, accompanying the team through all transitions and challenges. During his time with us, he has demonstrated an understanding of time management and the importance of maintaining a clean work environment. He regards his experience at AJ’s as providing both a positive workplace and opportunities to develop strong friendships. Gavin is preparing to pursue a career in the military and law enforcement, with a particular passion for joining the state highway patrol and completing boot camp. He values the relationships formed at AJ’s highly and takes pride in being part of the state runner-up wrestling team at his high school. His long-term objective is to become a state trooper. We are so very proud of his choice to serve our country.

For about twenty years, Pleasant second graders have made the walk to our shop (even before we were AJ’s) for their end-of-year ice cream — a real rite of passage. This year the sidewalks were closed, so AJ’s went to them instead. We’re glad we could sweeten their day with a donated ice cream social in honor of Alli. Huge thanks to the Pleasant staff and our crew for making it happen.

🌟 💫 ⭐️ Senior Spotlight 🌟
Addysen is in her first season with us, and she has quickly become a valued member of our team. Her experience at AJ’s has enabled her to adapt to varying work environments, fostering flexibility and resilience. Balancing her role at AJ’s with high school commitments provided Addysen with the opportunity to approach work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, making her shifts rewarding rather than burdensome.

Looking ahead, Addysen is eager to embark on a journey of self-discovery. She holds a strong interest in psychology and is committed to helping others as she pursues her career path. Throughout high school, Addysen demonstrated curiosity for human behavior and societal dynamics, continually expanding her academic and social understanding. Her artistic talents have been showcased through multiple art pieces in school fairs and a colored pencil work displayed at a college art show.

In the coming five years, Addysen plans to keep her options open, aiming to broaden her horizons both academically and geographically. She intends to study diverse subjects and explore a variety of places to better understand her ambitions.

Ella has worked at AJ’s for two seasons, gaining valuable skills in collaboration, delegation, authenticity, and time management. She looks forward to making friends, learning more about herself, and helping others. In high school, Ella was a National Honor Society member, earned Honor Roll status, obtained an Associate of Science from BGSU Firelands, and received all-conference and honorable mention soccer awards. She is passionate about biology and plans to attend the University of Cincinnati for cellular and molecular biology, aiming for a PhD in genetics and microbiology research.
