The date was Thursday September 11, 1986 and I just DJ’d my very first event. Now mind you, I didn’t set out to be a DJ. I was in college and I had some very old DJ equipment not being used. I randomly met someone and they needed a DJ for a school dance and they asked if I knew anyone. I knew me! I was in college and obviously making some extra money was very appealing so I said “sure, I can do that!” That event went very well and I was hooked. On September 11, 2026 my company, Rock & Roll Express Entertainment Company, will celebrate its 40th anniversary. I have seen so much happen in that time. So many great changes in technology, events, and people for that matter. If you asked me 40 years ago, if I would still be doing this, I’m pretty sure the answer would’ve been “no way”, and not because I didn’t enjoy it. It was because I never dreamed that I could make a career out of something that I love so much. Here we are today, a full-blown entertainment company with an amazing team by my side, doing meaningful events all over Ohio and beyond. My job, the people I work with, and the people we serve fill my life with joy and gratitude. I can’t even imagine the number of events and faces I’ve seen over these 40 years. I guess Jon Bon Jovi said it best, “I’ve seen a million faces and I’ve rocked them all”. To my team, I say thank you. Thank you for always believing in what we do, thank you for believing that the event you are about to do is the most important event ever. Thank you for bringing joy and love into my life and to the lives of our clients. To our clients and business partners, thank you for believing in us. Thank you for trusting us with your most important events. Thank you for collaborating with us and letting us make your vision a reality. It has been a tremendous opportunity and I am so excited for the future. You are the reason we are here and I could not be more thankful.
