Earlier this week, we had the honor of welcoming two young Marines into our restaurant. For Chef Daniel, this visit meant more than they realized.

Chef’s stepfather, the man he called “Dad,” passed away after an incredibly difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. That man was a proud Marine who earned many badges and honors throughout his years of service. And those military accomplishments are something Chef will always admire.

For the past four years, Chef was fortunate to operate his restaurant inside the American Legion in Lonsdale and also Montgomery. There he had the privilege of building relationships with and serving our local Veterans. So when these two young Marines walked thru our doors in uniform, it was a special moment for him.

They explained the sentiment that Marines aren’t always met with positive recognition and are sometimes viewed as “the bad guys.” We just want them — and every service member — to know that their dedication and sacrifice are seen, appreciated, and respected here.

To those two pictured: thank you for your service, your kindness, and for stopping in to share a meal with us. It was truly an honor to have you at our table.
