This weekend I had a the pleasure of cooking for a 50th wedding anniversary where all the adult children came together to celebrate their parents’ love story of how they met at a party near Kutztown over 50 years ago. They rented the beautiful Air BnB where I got to cook on a very functional vintage gas stove in this beautiful, quaint kitchen. The fall vibes were present all around the property, beautifully decorated with the perfect al fresco dining set-up to enjoy the crisp fall air, made extra cozy with heat lamps and lanterns.
For dinner we started off with a harvest berry salad- kale, quinoa, blueberries, strawberries, pepitas, and goat cheese, tossed in an apple c***r vinaigrette. For the main course, I made apple c***r pork medallions, roasted delicata squash with sage brown butter, sauteed green beans and bacon, and hasselback baked potatoes. For dessert they had the choice between my decadent flourless chocolate tortes with a maple peanut butter topping and the perfect apple crisp.
I also catered a luncheon where I provided a menu with a variety of foods for everyone. We had a nice charcuterie spread, teriyaki meatballs, pork and vegetable dumplings, kale harvest salad, pasta salad, baked mac n’ cheese, herb cream cheese stuffed mushrooms, waldorf chicken salad on croissants, dates with honey goat cheese, and fresh fruit platter.
I’m currently booking through December, so DM me with your next family gathering or other special occasion-I’d love to cook for you!
