Last weeks' meal with the wife at Gombo Nola Kitchen & Oyster Bar.
Absolutely fantastic! We have been here a few times and it keeps getting better every time. Started with the Beehive and Hurricane, Sweet chili glazed confit chicken thigh over a bed of rice & jalapeno slaw, the shrimp and grits and the BEST cornbread we have ever had. We were fortunate to chat with the owner and one of the chefs in this fantastic establishment. We can't say enough great things about this place. Please try it out.

A word from the owner: If you're keeping up with the novel you know that there would be no GOMBO without a Siberian Husky named Lucy. It's now time to help one of our own.

Murph (pictured) is a dear friend of GOMBO, and she came down with a severe case of pancreatitis which led to a host of other serious complications - all resulting in devastating and staggering vet bills. The good news is that Murph is recovering! I am hoping the GOMBO community will help Murph's family recover, too.

I know we're in the middle of our summer break, but in one week we are BACK and we're coming in hot. What can you expect that night??

* Buck-A-Shuck! $1 oysters all night long at the bar.
* Our new summer menu! Be the first to try new delights and see which of your favorites have gone bye byyyyeeee.
* 20% of all sales will go Murph's extensive hospital bills.
* Maybe even a surprise or two.

All you have to do is come see us! You love that, right? Sit down and eat and drink. In return, you will receive love and joy and help this beautiful dog (and her kickass family) get back on their feet.

I'd call that a bargain.

Baked Crawfish Oysters — half dozen oysters baked with a crawfish cream sauce, Parmesan & panko 🦪

Cajun potato salad — potato, trinity, carrots & scallions tossed in a Dijon aioli 🍠

Jerk Gator Skewers — grilled jerk marinated gator & pineapple with a lime crema 🍡

Broccolini & Gouda Grits — cheesy Gouda grits topped with charred broccolini, cannellini beans & a spicy sauce 🧀

Luck of the Draw — reposado tequila, Aperol, mango, lemon & egg whites with chili oil 🥭
