Here's a little video of Mick Shimonek from Open Mic Nite in August. The Flatwater Blues. The words are by Mick, taking off Doc Watson's song, Deepwater Blues.

Friends and neighbors, it's coming! The next Open Mic Nite will be held on Friday, July 24 from 7:30-10 p.m.

Let's start a half-hour later than the last time, to better mesh with the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

Songs, poems, jokes, readings and anything related to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence will be most appropriate, but of course you can anything you like; it's a free country!

Hope to see you there -- the party room of the North Platte Senior Center. Happy summertime!

Due to the hub-bub and other activities during Nebraskaland Days, there will not be an Open Mic Nite in June. We'll plan to have a great time on the fourth Friday in July -- July 24.

We're taking nominations for a theme for the July get-together. Just post it here or send a direct message.

Thank you. Don't worry, be happy!
