A coveted style; a real iykyk.

First, a little beer history; the Strong Bitter is a British style that grew out of the English Pale Ale with maltier attributes like biscuit, bready, nutty or light toast with accents of stone fruit and a higher alcohol content. Here's where it gets funny, the ESB is a Strong Bitter in technical style and yet has come to be known simply as ESB. The name Extra Special Bitter was first used by London based Fullers Brewery(with it's own long and storied history), the popularity of the beer expanded so broadly that bitter styles and more specifically the ESB as a style could be found all over the US. In the here and now we at Kraemer & Kin are big ESB fans and are making our version of the British bitter with English roots. Must seek & try for yourself!

Second, with FOOD! Pairings enhance nuanced aspects of selected food and drink, building on the quality of each and creating anew together.
ESB --> WITH
bloomy, warm brie topped with a stone fruit jam & biscuit cracker
roasted squash, zucchini or brussel sprouts or fire-roasted anything
buttery mushrooms & pasta with fresh grated parmesan
grilled peaches over vanilla bean ice cream with a drizzle of local honey

EXTRA SPECIAL BITTER is available this week at our taproom in North Hero and with select retailers.

We are still catching summer here in Vermont - most of us are not ready to lean into the seasonal shift so we ignore the crispness that may be edging into the early morning air - instead, we lean into play and preparations. Sun or drizzle, it doesn't matter - we are outside; on the lake, in the garden, in the woods and on the trails. We make beer we like to drink and this Blonde Ale is one that travels well; up mountains or cracked around the campfire - light, simple and crisp like a late summer morning.

Blonde Ale | 5%.
First brewed in 2021 and quickly establishing it's place as a staple. This Kolsch-style features slightly floral aromas that tease the light malt flavor onto the main stage while a balanced fermentation allows the fruity yeast character to close the show. Subtle - Simple - Refreshing; pairing quite well with this late summer we are catching.

Roses bloom in June, petals fall by July and in August form vitamin c rich little fruits of red fleshy skin, filled with hairy seeds. Some have of memories of jelly made from these odd little fruits and now you can add beer to be experienced to the list.
