8 town halls in the 8th district.

I promised I’d show up and listen. This week I finished my 8th town hall across CD8, from Isanti up to Bemidji.

To everyone who came out on a weeknight just to be heard, thank you. This is why I’m running on the CAPT Act, to put constituents back ahead of lobbyists, where they belong.

This campaign is you. Let’s finish it.

A constituent asked me if I’d debate Pete Stauber before the primary. My answer was yes. Any time, any town in the district.

So I put it in writing. On July 7 I sent the Congressman a formal invitation to debate before August 1, at a neutral venue with a local moderator, on his schedule. I asked for a response by July 20.

I’m sharing the letter here because you deserve to know the offer was made. Voters in the 8th District haven’t had an in-person town hall with their Congressman in seven years. A debate would be a good place to start.

There it is. Right there on the ballot.

Just a farmer who got tired of watching a broken system take care of itself instead of the people it’s supposed to represent and decided the only way to fix it was to run.

August 11th, Minnesota’s 8th District has a choice. Business as usual, or someone who’s actually going to show up and fight for you.
