This is tomorrow night, should be a lovely evening!
On September 24, Brattleboro author Peter Gould will read from his new novel “Part For The Hole” at Pangaea Café, in North Bennington. The novel’s madcap events center on a high school English teacher who decides to embark on a plan to rescue the National Endowment for the Arts, fiction that crosses over into the very real world of today.
Gould is a beloved Vermont writer, teacher, scholar, and theatre director whose novels take an imaginative approach to cultural and social issues, always with a local and artistic bent. “Part For the Whole” was inspired by a strange news story in the Brattleboro Reformer, and takes place in locations that may sound familiar to denizens of southern Vermont.
Gould will be followed by a brief reading by local writer Tom Fels from his recently published “Collected Prose.” The event will conclude with a short selection of songs sung by these two authors, musical partners for more years than they wish to admit.
Dinner, snacks, and beverages will be available. Books for sale will be provided by the Bennington Bookshop.
