A Heartfelt Holiday Update from China Blossom: Warren Speaks

Hi everyone, Warren here.

The holidays are officially here, and for the first time since 1960, we're not able to celebrate with you in our home—and that truly breaks our hearts.

Building Updates and Unexpected Challenges

When we closed back in August, we thought we'd be back in just a couple of months after some necessary renovations. But you know old buildings—once you start looking deeper, they always have surprises waiting.

We've hit some significant unexpected challenges, both with the scope of the project and the budget, and honestly, it's become a much bigger undertaking than we anticipated.

We are still dedicated to finding a way to move forward and reopen. However, we also need to be realistic. We are currently navigating a complex path, looking at both strategies to reopen and possible exit strategies. We are working hard to find the right way forward for China Blossom.

Navigating Personal Loss

As if the business challenges weren't enough, Emily and I have also been navigating some really tough personal times. We lost her dad just over a month ago after his battle with cancer. My parents are nearing 90. We are dealing with life changes beyond our control, and we're doing our best to manage it all.

Thank You for Your Love and Support

I know I've been quiet, and I know there's been talk, questions, and frustrations out there. I've seen the comments—the good ones and the tough ones. And you know what? I see all of it as love. If you didn't care about China Blossom, you wouldn't take the time to say anything at all. That means everything to us.

We miss you. We miss serving you, seeing your faces, and being part of your celebrations. As much as you miss us, we miss you more.

This has been a very tumultuous and emotional time for us. But we want to wish you all a very happy holidays.

We know it’s been a while, and we miss our customer family more than words can say. 💛 Our beautiful old building has thrown us more than a few unexpected challenges during renovations, but we’re working hard and staying committed to bringing China Blossom back to you.

💺 Everyone always loved these gorgeous chairs in our lobby — and we miss seeing YOU sitting in them even more. 💕

While we’re still closed for renovations, our old building has certainly thrown us a few unexpected surprises along the way. But we’re working hard to make sure China Blossom is better than ever when we can welcome you back.

We miss you all and can’t wait to see this lobby filled with smiles again soon.

🍹 A Quick Update from China Blossom 🍹

While we’re still in the middle of renovations, our old (but beautiful!) building has revealed more needed repairs than we expected. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as this process takes longer than anticipated.

One thing we know for sure — our legendary Mai Tai’s will be back… and with all the surprises we’ve uncovered during renovations, we might need a few ourselves! 😉

We cannot wait to welcome all of our amazing customers back to celebrate together once the doors are open again. Thank you for standing by us — it means the world! ❤️

While we don’t have a reopen date just yet, we’re still hard at work behind the scenes. Our beautiful (but very old!) building has revealed some unexpected plumbing and structural issues, and our team is carefully addressing them to ensure everything is safe, welcoming, and ready for you.

We truly appreciate your patience and support as renovations take longer than originally planned. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon and celebrate together once the doors are open again!

While we’re closed for exciting renovations, we’re taking you back to the 1960s — when our iconic dragon fountain welcomed guests in the lobby and intricate details filled every corner of China Blossom.

The décor may have evolved over the decades, but the same charm, warm atmosphere, and inviting spirit have remained for more than 65 years.
