🎉🍔 ONE YEAR OF BABA YUM BURGERS! 🍔🎉

One year ago today, September 12, 2025, we opened the doors to Baba Yum Burgers.

We had a small kitchen, a big idea, and one goal: make fresh, authentic smash burgers while building a business that could truly become part of the community.

What a year it has been.

We’ve smashed A LOT of burgers ~28,000. 🍔
We’ve made a mountain of fries. ~15,000 🍟
We’ve created new burgers, tried some crazy ideas, made mistakes, learned from them, and kept getting better.

But the best part of this first year hasn’t been the burgers.

It’s been YOU.

It’s the regulars whose orders we recognize. The families who keep coming back. The kids who stop in after school and tell us about their day. The teachers, students, town employees, first responders, local businesses, schools and organizations we’ve had the opportunity to support and work with.

It’s the people who told their friends about us, shared our posts, left us reviews, gave us feedback, downloaded our app, ordered delivery, came back for another burger, or simply stopped in to say hello.

You turned Baba Yum Burgers from a little burger shop into something that feels like part of North Andover.

We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built in our first year—but we also know we’re just getting started.

There are bigger plans ahead (stay tuned!!), more burgers to smash, more communities to reach, and plenty more ideas we probably haven’t even thought of yet.

To our incredible team: thank you for the long days, busy nights, hot grills, crazy rushes and everything you do behind the scenes to make this place work.

❤️ A Note to Our Parents & Community

We recently received a call from a parent concerned that our team had been rude to his son. We take concerns like this seriously and wanted to provide some context.

We genuinely LOVE having the kids from the nearby youth center visit Baba Yum Burgers. From the beginning, we’ve wanted our little shop to be a place where parents feel comfortable knowing their kids are welcome and safe.

We also genuinely enjoy interacting with them. We ask about their day at school, learn their names and grades, joke around with them, and sometimes ask who their teachers are. Having spent a couple of years working at the middle school and alongside some of their teachers, I especially enjoy hearing familiar names! Many of these kids have become familiar faces, and we're genuinely happy to see them walk through our doors.

At the same time, being a safe and welcoming space means maintaining some basic expectations.

Our restaurant is small, and when large groups come in, it fills up quickly and can get rowdy. We've also had situations where kids have taken food belonging to other kids, claimed they were picking up someone else's order, or written inappropriate things on our blackboard. When these things happen, our team has a responsibility to step in.

If we ask someone to lower their voice, respect the space, leave another person's food alone, or behave appropriately, our intention is never to be rude or make anyone feel unwelcome. We're simply trying to maintain a safe and respectful environment for the kids, our customers, and our team.

We WANT the kids to keep coming. We want them to laugh, tell us about their day, grab a burger and fries, and feel like Baba Yum is one of their neighborhood spots. We simply ask for their cooperation, and the support of their parents, when we occasionally need to set boundaries.

Thank you to the parents who trust us, the kids who visit us, and our community for supporting us.

We love this town and hope to continue building strong relationships with its kids and families for years to come. ❤️🍔
