Hello to all of our loyal customers, friends, family! If you were with us over the last weekend you know!!
My brother Chalie and I decided to retire over the last 2 years and we searched for an interested party to sell our family business to!
So with the wheels in motion, we made our announcement and… you all responded in overwhelming numbers!
“Thank you” is not enough of a response to acknowledge the outpouring of loyalty and love we experienced.
1941 — Grandpop “Lou” and Grandmom “Jean,” I’m certain, had no idea what they were about to enter into! They opened a place before its time, where anyone and everyone was accepted, 7 days a week, 20 hours a day. They got it done!
All of our families and cousins never looked for jobs. When you came of age, you worked at “the store” (a term of endearment to all of our families).
When our grandparents retired, our mother and dad (JoJo), and Mom’s sister Josephine (carmen), Falcone, Jean (Joe Bruno) ran the business during the 70’s and early 80’s they were difficult tough times, but we all persevered. The community and business were all changing.
When our aunts and uncles retired in 1994, our mom took on Chalie & I as partners, and here we are today, our chance to retire!
The new owners had a chance to work over this weekend and they saw what loyalty, love and little hard work can create. We wish them well.
When you have a chance to retire, in reflection, you hope you have made a difference in someone’s life. From 3, 4 & 5 generations of families and friends, we got our answer!
Chalie and I, all of our families, are humbled, grateful and truly blessed.
Love you all!
Lou
