After over 10 years, it’s time for us to share some difficult news. Better Days Diner will be closing its doors. Our final day of business will be Sunday, September 13.
Brad has poured his heart, his time, and more hours than we could ever count into this little 1950s-style diner in Nolensville. He initially took it over as Hwy 55 and then 3 years ago rebranded to more of his own concept as Better Days Diner. And what a privilege it has been to watch it become part of this community.
Over the years, Better Days has been so much more than a restaurant. It has been morning coffee, family lunches and birthday celebrations. Quick meals that turned into long conversations. It has fed high school football teams and hungry fans. It’s been a gathering place for men’s Bible studies and been featured in music videos. It has been a place for celebrations, conversations, friendships, and ordinary days hopefully made a little better by our delicious food and inviting staff.
We have watched families grow. We have watched friendships form. We have gotten to know generations of people who walked through our doors. Some of our customers became friends, and some became like family. That is what makes this so incredibly hard.
So why close?
The honest answer is that after over 10 years of giving so much of himself to this place, Brad needs more time for the people waiting for him at home.
Running a small, independent restaurant has meant long days, long weeks, early mornings, late nights, and very little separation between work and life. We are incredibly proud of what he has built, but we also know our family needs him. And Brad deserves the opportunity to have more time with the people he loves most.
At the same time, the rising costs of doing business have made it increasingly difficult for a small, independently owned restaurant to provide the kind of stability and support our family needs. This decision was not made lightly. There is a lot of sadness in saying goodbye to something that has been such a huge part of our lives.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make Better Days what it became. To every customer who walked through our doors: thank you. Thank you for choosing a locally owned restaurant. Thank you for the conversations, the laughter, the encouragement, the familiar faces, the kind words, and for allowing us to be a small part of your lives. Thank you to everyone who worked alongside Brad and helped keep this place going. We could never have done it without you.
And thank you, Nolensville, for allowing Better Days Diner to be part of your community for over 10 years.
We have 4 more days of coffee, burgers, milkshakes, conversations, familiar faces, and memories. If Better Days has ever meant something to you, we hope you'll come see us. Come have one more meal. Sit in your favorite booth. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Come say goodbye. Come help us fill this place with a few more memories before we turn off the lights.
Because while Better Days Diner may be closing its doors, the years of memories made inside them will stay with us forever. ❤️
