In 1971 Jim Moore decided he’d open a little chicken shack off NE 23rd in Nicoma Park, OK. Many years later after perfecting his golden fried chicken, Jim decided to retire and go fishin’. The restaurant changed hands over the next 10 years or so with no one ever really recapturing that great fried chicken that Jim’s guests were used to. In the early part of 2014, Brent Swadley and landowner Bobby
and Verna Kolar came to an agreement to remodel Jim’s Famous Chicken and reclaim that great-tasting chicken. The Swadley Family put their special southern comfort feel to the building and menu. Unlike those that came before them, they invited the Moore Family back to teach them all about Fried Chicken. Nicoma Park and the surrounding towns had their chicken back!
