Tickets for A Night of Midnights & Mochas are officially on sale!

Join us Friday, October 23rd from 6:30–9ish PM for a cozy, witchy ladies night at Mercantile. Think Beetlejuice, tarot, witch bell wreaths, a grazing table, coffee, costumes, shopping, a little pampering and a night out with your girlfriends. 🌙

🎟️ Tickets are $15 and include the grazing table, tarot, crafts, movie and more! We’ll also have some fun extras available that night for an additional cost.

SPACE IS LIMITED, so if you’re planning to come, make sure you snag your ticket before we fill up!

Costumes are encouraged but definitely not required. Come witchy, come spooky, come straight from work. We don’t care. 😂

Grab your girlfriends, pull out your favorite witchy outfit, and come spend a spooky little Friday night with us at Mercantile!

Friday, October 23rd | 6:30–9ish PM

We’re turning Mercantile into a cozy, witchy ladies night with Beetlejuice playing, snacks, crafts, tarot and plenty of time to hang out, shop, get pampered and enjoy a night out with friends.

🎟️ Tickets are $15 and will go on sale THIS FRIDAY!

Your ticket includes: 🔮 Tarot reading
🧙 Witch bell wreath craft
🧀 Grazing table
🎬 Beetlejuice
✨ A few other little surprises we’re working on

We’ll also have some fun extras available throughout the night for an additional cost, including henna, mini massages, Chanel beauty products, and whatever else we manage to dream up between now and then.

☕ Mercantile’s coffee bar will be open during the event, so lattes, seasonal drinks and other beverages will be available to purchase separately.

And YES, costumes are encouraged. You absolutely do not have to dress up, but if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to wear something witchy in public without anyone asking questions... here it is.

We’re still looking for a henna artist and licensed massage therapist/masseuse who would like to join us for the evening! If that’s you, or you know someone, send us a message.

📚 BOOK SWAP AT MERCANTILE!

Saturday, October 17 | Starting at 3:30 PM

We're bringing back our Book Swap, and this time we're keeping everything right here at Mercantile Coffee & Feed!

We learned a few things from our last swap, so here's how this one will work.

Mercantile will close at 3 PM for regular business so we can take 30 minutes to rearrange the shop and set up our swap tables.

Here's how the swap will work:

📖 Starting at 3:30 PM, we'll begin accepting books. Our volunteers will check your books and give you one ticket for each book accepted.

📖 Once everyone has checked in, we'll take a few minutes to organize all the books on the tables. We'll ask everyone to step out of the swap area while we get everything ready.

📖 Once the tables are set, we'll welcome everyone back in to browse! Use your tickets to pick out your next great reads. One ticket = one book.

A few guidelines from our last swap:

We want this to feel like a fun trade between book lovers, not a drop-off for books headed to Goodwill.

Please bring books in good condition that you'd be excited to recommend or receive yourself. Think great novels, recent nonfiction, or beloved favorites.

Please skip: • Heavily worn or damaged books

• Textbooks or outdated manuals

• Old reference books

• Anything you wouldn't personally be excited to pick up

All books will be checked for condition and desirability at check-in. If a book isn't accepted, no hard feelings!

Please do not drop books off with Mercantile staff during regular business hours. Books will only be accepted during our designated swap check-in.

No outside food or drinks, please.

Whether you're clearing a little space on your bookshelf or looking for your next can't-put-it-down read, come spend the afternoon with us!

We’re back to our normal Saturday hours this weekend!

Mercantile will be open 8:30 AM–3 PM, and we’ve invited a few small businesses to set up shop in the back with us!

These ladies have some fall and Halloween inventory they’re hoping to move, and we would LOVE to see them head home with a whole lot less than they came with. So while you’re grabbing your coffee or breakfast, make sure you wander to the back and do a little shopping!

We adore our Mercantile crew, and we’re extra excited to cheer on one of our own this Saturday! Our sweet and incredibly talented Brinlee will be at the Jessamine County Antique Farm Equipment Fall Festival with Brinlee’s Bakery and SO many delicious treats!

Stop by Mercantile for breakfast + a latte, then head over to the Jess. Co. Fairgrounds and help our girl SELL OUT!

LOCAL VENDORS — LIMITED SATURDAY SPACE AVAILABLE!

We know that a festival scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled, and we also know that may leave some local vendors looking for a place to set up this Saturday.

We have very limited space available in the back of our coffee shop, and we’d love to offer it up to a few small businesses who still want an opportunity to set up and sell!

If you’re interested, please message us with your business information and photos of your setup.

A few important details:
• NO TENTS
• No food or drink vendors, as our coffee shop already serves both
• Space will be first come, first served
• Availability is VERY limited

If you need a spot for Saturday, reach out as soon as possible and we’ll see if we can make it work!

Feel free to share this with a local vendor who may have been affected by the festival being rescheduled!

We’re back at it tomorrow with our normal hours!

But first… a little Mercantile PSA.

Our crew worked their tails off this weekend. They showed up, hustled, made food, filled orders, cleaned up, smiled, and kept going... even when some of the kindness coming their way was in short supply.

So here’s your friendly reminder:

Our crew is human.
They have feelings.
They work HARD.
And they deserve kindness.

Our breakfast and lunch are made to order. We aren’t pulling your sandwich out from under a heat lamp. We’re making it for YOU. Fresh food takes a minute...and during a festival, it might take a few more.

And listen…

If we can stand in a line halfway down the street for a funnel cake covered in powdered sugar… we can wait a few minutes for a dang good sandwich.

Patience is free.
Kindness is free.
And being rude doesn’t make the people preparing your food magically faster.

To the MANY customers who were patient, gracious, encouraging, and kind to our crew this weekend THANK YOU. You have no idea how much those smiles, kind words, and little moments of understanding mean when we’re slammed.

Today, our crew gets some much-deserved rest and day off.

Tomorrow, we’re back to normal hours and ready to do what we do best...serve up some really good food to some really good people.

Mercantile is taking a little breather tomorrow.

After an absolutely INSANE Downtown Days weekend, our staff has worked their tails off. Long days, nonstop lines, a packed shop, and so many moving pieces behind the scenes… and they handled it all.

So we’re giving the whole crew a much-needed day to sleep in, relax, recover, and do absolutely nothing coffee-related for a minute.

Mercantile will be CLOSED Monday, September 14.

Thank you to everyone who stopped in this weekend, waited patiently when we were slammed, tipped our staff, encouraged them, and showed our little coffee shop so much love.

We’ll see you Tuesday… hopefully rested, caffeinated, and with our feet no longer hurting.

We have absolutely LOVED being right in the middle of Downtown Days this weekend.

It has been so much fun seeing downtown packed with people, watching everyone enjoy the festival, and getting to welcome so many of you through our doors along the way.

After a very busy couple of days, we’re giving our crew a little extra time this morning to restock, reset and get the shop ready for another big festival day.

We will be opening at 10 AM today!

Thank you for being patient with our staff this weekend. They have worked their tails off, and we’re so thankful for them.

Come grab your coffee and then head out for the FINAL DAY of Downtown Days! We’ll see you at 10!

Meet our Downtown Days Festival Energy Drink Menu!

Our staff came up with their own festival drinks, recipes and names, and they’ll be available all weekend and they have a friendly little competition between them...:

Some are fruity, some are creamy, some have Red Bull, some have Red Bull AND audacity. Basically, there’s something for whatever level of festival energy you’re operating on. 😂

One warning: we stocked up, but we genuinely have NO idea how long supplies will last this weekend. Once we run out of something, that may be it!

Stop in, grab breakfast or lunch, pick your staff-created energy drink, and then head back out into Downtown Days. ❤️
