What an incredible achievement for our owner, coaches, athletes, and the entire Lew-Port Youth Wrestling family!
Congratulations to everyone whose hard work, dedication, and passion have helped make this organization such an important part of our community. This recognition is a testament to the countless hours spent mentoring young athletes, building character, and creating opportunities for future generations.
The Cornerstone Award is not just a reflection of one person’s efforts, but of the amazing people who have contributed to making Lew-Port Youth Wrestling a place where kids can grow, compete, and thrive. We are proud to be part of an organization that continues to positively impact so many lives.
Here’s to everyone who has helped build this foundation and to the many future generations who will benefit from it. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! 💙💛🤼♂️🏆
We would like to congratulate Bashar Srouji and Jeremy Stopa on receiving the Cornerstone Award, presented by the Niagara Frontier League coaches to the Lew-Port Youth Wrestling Club.
The Cornerstone Award recognizes individuals who have laid the foundation and groundwork for athletic programs, creating opportunities for future generations of athletes to succeed.
Five years ago, in the midst of COVID, Bashar and Jeremy took over the Lew-Port Youth Wrestling Club with just seven registered athletes. Today, the program has grown to nearly 90 wrestlers, becoming one of the premier youth wrestling programs in the area.
Over the past five years, they have transformed the club into a nonprofit organization, brought back the Lew-Port Youth Wrestling Tournament, and helped revive the Pete Rao High School Wrestling Tournament. They also established the Friends of Lew-Port Wrestling Committee, which helps support high school wrestlers during the offseason by assisting with training and competition expenses.
The program has produced multiple youth state champions and state place winners, while developing numerous wrestlers who have gone on to compete successfully at the national level.
Jeremy Stopa serves as President of the club, while Bashar Srouji serves as Head Coach. Together, they have worked tirelessly to create opportunities for young wrestlers and strengthen the future of Lew-Port Wrestling.
We are proud of the growth of the program and grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey, including our coaches, volunteers, parents, athletes, and the entire Lew-Port wrestling community.
💙💛 This award belongs to everyone who has helped build the foundation of Lew-Port Wrestling and continues to move the program forward each year. 💙💛
👏 We would also like to congratulate Lew-Port Varsity Wrestling Coach Randy Lombardo on being named Niagara Frontier League Coach of the Year. Randy’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to the development of Lew-Port wrestlers have played a major role in the continued success of the program. This recognition is a well-deserved honor, and we are proud to have him leading our varsity program.
🏅 Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients! 🏅
