Hello everyone, we have an Important Announcement and feel free to share.
Waynes Restaurant is once again available for Lease. Our hope is to find an experienced operator that is passionate about bringing quality food to our community. The Restaurant and Pub is fully equipped and is ready for service.

Sheryl would also be willing to come on as a consultant to a new operator if they're interested in learning how Wayne's has been a successful restaurant here for over 60 years.

Feel free to reach out if you may know of anyone interested.

Hello friends and my past loyal customers, the former Wayne’s will be opening very soon under new management and new name “ Angie’s Place “. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people that have reached out to help me from their heart with the cleaning and restoration of Wayne’s. Sue Prue, Laurie Eastman, Ian & Jessie Wright, & Michael Brasseur. For help with all my paperwork my son Trevor & Nancy Cass. Also to the North Country Mountaineers Snowmobile Club for their most generous offer to pay the previous owner’s property taxes with interest and penalties. It so touched my heart to think a club from out of town would have made such an generous offer. Also to the many towns people that have reached out to me with words of encouragement during my financial burden that was left from the previous owner. I would personally like to wish Angie and Mike much success and I hope that you show them all the love and support that you all have shown me and my family in the past. Hope to see you all there!!! Thanks again Sheryl 💕

Well everyone it is official; as of Friday I am RETIRED!! The new owner AJ will debut his new restaurant Rustico this week!!

I had a wonderful 20+ year run as the owner of this wonderful restaurant. I have met a lot of lifelong friends along the way.

First off I would like to thank my Dad; the amazing Wayne. He taught me how to walk; talk and everything he knew about cooking and I can’t thank him enough for that.

Thank you to my amazing staff; although I may have hollered at you sometimes; I still loved and appreciated all of you and couldn’t of run my business without you all.

A big thank you to Ellen and Carol at Passumpsic Savings Bank! What a great team to work with.

A special thank you to my brother Michael for his great carpenter skills and to my sisters; Laurie for all of your time in the breakfast department; Jodye for gracing us with her presence every now and then; my brother in law David for always helping out when I was in a pickle and working the fryer or the grill; my sister Candy who was with me thru thick and thin and I couldn’t have run it without her! Sometimes she was my right arm; sometimes she was my left arm and sometimes she was there to just tell me to shut my mouth! Not many sisters retire on the same day!

Lastly, to my amazing customers! Thank you for making my restaurant not just any restaurant but a family restaurant. I might not have known you by name but if you ordered a BLT with no tomato and not toasted I knew who it was for. If it wasn’t for your loyalty and support I wouldn’t of had a business at all. My apologies for not being able to come out and visit and thank you all personally on my last weekend at Wayne’s. It was an overwhelming weekend and I appreciate each and everyone of you! Not many places are in business for as long as Wayne’s was and I credit that to the wonderful customers of both my Dad and myself.

My hope is that you will continue to support AJ at Rustico. AJ is a caring, energetic man that takes pride in his food. I feel he has great ideas for the future of Rustico and look forward to watching him grow this business.

I will be around and available to help AJ. We have a great relationship and I like his ideas. I will be at home tending to the wood stove and cleaning out the hoarders basement. Fred is doing fine and we will spend the winter together planning for our next summer adventures!

To all of our customers and friends; as most of you may have heard Wayne’s Family Restaurant has been sold. This has happened a bit sooner than expected.

Please join us for all of your favorite meals as this is our final week. Wayne’s will be open Thursday 9/23; Friday 9/24 and Saturday 9/25 3pm to closing and Sunday 9/26 11:30 am to closing.

Stay tuned as I say my farewells and thank you’s and introduce you to the new owner in the coming days.

**Due to recent health issues with my husband Fred; Wayne’s will be opening at 3:00pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday will remain the same opening at 11:30.**
