A little sushi, a lot of fun, and an even bigger impact. 🍣
We were honored to have our chefs spend some time with the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana, sharing their passion for sushi and giving them a hands-on introduction to the culinary world.
The Boys & Girls Club provides local youth with opportunities for learning, enrichment, mentorship and personal growth! We loved being able to contribute by sharing the skills and experiences from our own kitchen.
For our chefs Leonhar Cruz & kevin jones , it was more than teaching them how to make sushi. It was about encouraging curiosity, creativity and confidence while giving these young chefs a glimpse into a world they may one day choose to pursue.
We’re proud to be part of our community and even prouder when we can share what we love with the next generation. ❤️🍣

The Cannery’s Hot Stove Dinner Series returns for another season of intimate evenings with some of baseball’s biggest names and this year’s lineup is one you won’t want to miss.

Join us for unforgettable nights featuring Molly Jolly, Adrián Beltré and Kurt Stillwell, with each evening bringing together cocktails, a spectacular dinner with w**e pairings, a personal meet & greet and the kind of behind-the-scenes baseball stories you won’t hear from the stands.

A Newport Beach tradition for more than 20 years, Hot Stove was created to bring baseball fans together during the offseason and with limited seating, these evenings are anything but ordinary.

What an incredible weekend for our Off-Site Events Team! ✨
Our team had the honor of being part of three amazing events this past weekend, each bringing people together for an even greater purpose. From a two-night event benefiting Friends of OASIS Senior Center and the Newport Beach Junior Guards Scholarship Program, to another special event supporting the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy, we were incredibly proud to lend our time, talent, and expertise to causes that make a meaningful difference in our communities. None of it would have been possible without our amazing staff! We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and so proud of our team that makes it all happen!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our incredible Executive Chef, Kevin Jones! 🎉
It’s hard to put into words just how much Kevin means to our team and to everything we’ve built.
He is extraordinarily talented, endlessly creative, and somehow manages to lead one of the busiest kitchens around with constant kindness and an incredible amount of grace. He earns the respect of everyone around him because he gives that same respect right back and is always making his team feel valued, supported, and heard.
Whether it’s a last-minute menu change, a special guest request, or a kitchen running at full speed, Kevin handles it all with flexibility and ease. No matter how busy things get, he always makes time for the person standing in front of him.
So much of our success is thanks to his talent, leadership, dedication, and heart. We are incredibly lucky to have you leading our kitchen and even luckier to have you as part of our Cannery family.

When our owner, Ron Salisbury, was asked to nominate an employee for Orange County Business Journal’s “Indispensable” feature, there was no question who he would choose! He nominated our Events Manager, Jason Noble, and shared these incredibly kind words about why he is such an invaluable part of our team:
“The Cannery/Louie’s By The Bay is compelled to nominate Jason Noble as an “Indispensable” for our family group of 10 restaurants. Needless to say, this was very difficult in only choosing one individual as there are possibly five to six who would fit that very unique category. Having said that, Jason qualifies for this recognition as he in effect directly impacts a minimum of three of our restaurants and indirectly the other seven with what he brings to our organization.
Jason’s title (and we try to shy away from titles as we work to foster the approach that everyone, at all times is directly responsible for any action that makes us better as an organization) is director of special events primarily at The Cannery and Louie’s By The Bay. Jason’s passion, wisdom, and raw ability that in the past few years vastly exceeded my expectation when the position was first created.
Simply put, the impact of one person on the financial impact as well as the additional human element has been something to deeply appreciate and respect. He is a rare gem in his every day presence. He is that rarity of someone you dream of finding, but in reality, don’t believe you ever will. But don’t anyone try to hire him. Personally, being so wise that we have done everything possible to bond him to us!“
