Proudly Serving Newberg Since 1975! Very soon after opening, General Manager Craig
took over as owner and operated J’s with great
success until 1999.

Here at J’s we are very proud to be a small part of
our great Newberg community, celebrating our
past and looking forward to the future. Back in 1975 J’s started as J’s Family Diner and Pie
House, a 50-seat small family restaurant that was
a welcome new casual dining experience for the
people. Originally built here in Newberg as the 4th
restaurant in the J’s group this was met with great
excitement (the original J’s is still here today in
Monmouth Oregon, still owned and operated by
the original owner!). During this period 3 additions
were added on to accommodate demand which
morphed the building in to what you see today-our
250 seat family restaurant and lounge. In 1999, the current owner Sean Reed and his father
Jim took over and began the current legacy, always
looking toward the future trends with constant
guardianship honoring the past, in fact today’s
current menu still has 25% of the original crowd
favorites represented. Over the last decade, we have diligently worked
to continue to improve with forward looking
stewardship focused on local and sustainable
fresh from scratch products. Every day we make
conscientious decisions to source responsibly,
always looking for the closest regional products
with no GMO’s and absolutely no growth hormones. Our current menu features all locally sourced meats
and produce from great partners such as St. Helen’s
Beef, Carlton Farms, Yamhill Farms—the list goes
on and on. We even bake our breads, desserts and
breakfast treats from scratch daily featuring Bob’s

❤️🍔 J’s Annual Employee Appreciation Day! 🍔❤️

What an amazing day celebrating the people who make J’s Restaurant & Lounge what it is!

This year, we held our Employee Appreciation Day at Memorial Park, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. We enjoyed a delicious hamburger BBQ — and even our owner, Sean, jumped behind the grill and cooked for everyone! 🍔🔥

There were lots of laughs, some great games, plenty of friendly competition, and some really awesome prizes and gifts won throughout the day! 🎁🏆

Most importantly, it was a chance to get outside of work, relax, have fun together, and celebrate our incredible team. We are so thankful for the hard work, dedication, and personality that each and every one of our employees brings to J’s every day.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped plan, organize, decorate, cook, and make this year’s celebration so special. And an even bigger thank you to our entire J’s family — this day was all about YOU! ❤️

Due to the cheer team’s attendance at Cheer Camp, tonight’s fundraiser has been rescheduled.
Please join us on Monday, July 20, from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM at J’s Restaurant & Lounge instead!
We’ll be donating 20% of all food and beverage sales during the event back to the cheer team, so come enjoy a great meal while supporting these hardworking athletes.

💜 Giving Back to Our Community 💜

One of the greatest joys of being part of J’s Restaurant & Lounge is having the opportunity to give back to the schools and organizations that make our community so special.

Today, we were honored to present our donation to Chehalem Valley Middle School. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out, dined with us, and supported this fundraiser. Because of your generosity, we’re able to help make a difference for local students.

Supporting our schools isn’t just something we do—it’s something we truly believe in. Together, we are investing in the future of our community, one fundraiser at a time.

Today our community lost a truly kind soul.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jason Doherty, owner of Gilded Heart. Jason was a familiar face at J’s and always brought kindness, warmth, and a smile with him whenever he stopped by. He was a hardworking local business owner who cared deeply about this community and the people in it.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends, employees, and everyone whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, and his impact on our community will not be forgotten.

Please keep Jason’s loved ones in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Jason. 💙
