Lancaster pick up will be Friday, October 18 at 5 pm in the parking lot across from Double Edge Brewing Co.

And the most recent news is that our wonderful cookie designer Kylie is a finalist in an amazing online baking contest with Bake from Scratch Magazine and could use your votes! Hello friends!

Many of you have noticed our absence from the Lancaster Farmers Market, Keller Market House, and lack of availability for special orders. We appreciate all the messages and calls checking in with us. Thankfully everything is good.

The last few years have a been a time for unparalleled growth for our little home-based business due to your amazing support. There has been so much support and increased demand, that we have outgrown our little kitchen. We talked about the possibility of a "brick-and-mortar" location, but we feel passionate about avoiding large overhead to keep our product pricing approachable so we started looking at other home kitchens so we could keep the business under our own roof.

This has meant that for the last 3 weeks, we have been aggressively preparing our home to sell and hitting the home market. We're hoping to be in our new digs, complete with a dedicated kitchen space just for our cookies and bread, in the next month. We're anxious to get back with all our smiling customers soon. Thank you all!

It’s a rainy day at the Lancaster Farmers Market but we’re still here (at least for now). If you’re not venturing out into the storm but would like cookies or bread, shoot us a message or comment below and we’ll deliver to you! We currently have deliveries this afternoon around Lancaster and Columbus.

Our Story

My wife, Kylie, and I started Sweet Notes Custom Cookies and Baked Goods 2 years ago as a way to showcase and market her incredible work with royal icing and other sweet confections. Her custom logo cookie work has graced the tables of graduation parties, birthdays, baby shower, corporate events, real estate open houses and more! We knew that we eventually wanted to expand our product line but were especially inspired after our trip to San Francisco in July of 2019. After touring the historic Boudin Bakery (home of a 160 year old mother dough) and several other artisan bakeries in the Bay Area, it became clear that we both had a passion for sourdough. We both grew up baking, standing on kitchen chairs next to our family members, so the care and attention necessary for artisan baking hit home. After months of testing out recipes (and building our own starter), we're happy to be able to offer our Artisan Sourdough and other gourmet bakery items in our local markets and also for special order. Our naturally leavened sourdough is a "West Coast Style" with tangy aroma, crackly and chewy crust, and an airy texture with lots of unpredictable bubbles. It's great for accompanying soups, spread with some local butter and sea salt, or just by itself. Just like with our cookies, we use only the best all-natural and locally sourced ingredients (some fresh from our garden) and hope to collaborate with other local farms to feature their produce in a variety of sourdough variations.

We are both classical musicians and with the pandemic came the cancellation of all of our performances around the state. In the absence of those concerts, we have found new artistic expression with each of our products being handcrafted and artfully scored. In addition to Artisan Sourdoughs and our Custom Decorate Cookies, we have also added several stuffed Italian loaves, Jewish Challah, Rosemary-Olive Oil Bread, English Muffin Toasting Bread, and Gourmet Burger Buns to our products.
