In Southeast Asia, Malaysian street food represents the best food you can find. Drinks are served in plastic bags, rice comes hand-wrapped in fresh banana leaves or printed newspaper. Colorful plastic plates and bowls and chopsticks get rinsed in huge water buckets. Small shops and carts cooking simple home style food. You can always tell a delicious street food stall by the amount of people crowd

ed around small wobbly tables sitting on even smaller stools. Slurping noodles, sipping coffee, raising a bottle. This is what street food means to us. Simple and good. Casual and fun. Always delicious. Born on The Streets of Penang, Malaysia.

If you grew up on prawn mee, you know it’s more than just food—it’s memory in a bowl. The smell of prawn shells frying in the wok, the slow bubble of the stock, the way the chili sambal cuts through the richness… it hits different when you’re far from home. We’re not trying to reinvent it; we’re just trying to bring it back to you exactly the way you remember. Rich prawn broth, springy noodles, succulent prawns, pork slices, bean sprouts, kangkung, and that addictive crispy shallot-lard topping. Homesick? Let Wok Wok take care of you today. 🍜❤️🦐

Tucked away in the basement at 11 Mott St, Chinatown NYC... still here after 10+ years ❤️ Being this hidden has made things a bit tough lately, but it also proves real dreams & authentic flavors endure—no matter what.

Our 40-year-old curry laksa recipe was born when I was just 5—straight from my dad‘s Penang hawker roots. It’s been the soul of Wok Wok since we opened in 2015 🥥🔥

Creamy coconut broth, house-made rempah chili paste, shredded chicken, shrimp, fish cake, bouncy noodles... pure family legacy in every steaming bowl 🍜

If you‘ve found us and kept coming back, thank you from the heart for the love that keeps us going. Haven’t discovered us yet? Come down the stairs—we‘re that quiet spot waiting to win your heart (and appetite). Share this with a friend who loves hidden gems and bold Malaysian flavors... we could use the extra love right now! 👇❤️
