Regional Samaúma brings choro & Brazilian music to Berimbau Second Floor.

Founded in New York, the ensemble carries the tradition of the roda de choro into the city's best rooms, from Barbès to Lincoln Center. This time, joined by pianist Henrique Eisenmann for a night of choro, improvisation & a few surprises.

This Friday, Ella Dair at Berimbau Second Floor.

Raised in San Francisco singing alongside her aunt Lavay Smith’s swing band, Ella went on to study ethnomusicology at Bard before joining the team at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Now she brings her New York sound to Berimbau Second Floor for an intimate evening of jazz, soul and Brazilian standards, joined by William Hill III on piano, Tal Ronen on bass and Alex Kautz on drums.

Doors open at 6:00 PM with a vinyl set by Fernanda Steinmann. Ella Dair takes the stage at 7:00 PM.

Berimbau Second Floor invites you into an intimate listening experience unlike any other.

A New York–based vocalist by way of San Francisco, Ella grew up singing alongside her aunt Lavay Smith’s swing band before studying ethnomusicology at Bard and later joining the staff at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Her sets move through jazz, soul & Brazilian standards. She’ll be joined by William Hill III on piano, Tal Ronen on bass & Alex Kautz on drums.

The evening opens at 5:30 with a vinyl set from Fernanda Steinmann, rare grooves & Brazilian rhythms to ease you into the night. Ella takes the stage at 7.
