This comfy spot features the best in Italian wines, tapas and pasta. SUD proves that authentic, delicious Italian cooking doesn't have to be a formal affair. Chef Di Franco uses herbs from the back garden and traditional recipes. The crostini and the antipasti each offer a savory and shareable introduction, the Antipasto Italiano is a favorite (with a selection of olives, cacciatorini salami, mortadella and the fresh cheese of the day). For the main attraction, go with the pasta. Here they're cooked to al dente perfection, then topped with rich homemade sauces. THE ATMOSPHERE:

For Sud dishes out authentic Southern Italian meals, but with a healthy side of chill Brooklyn atmosphere.
