The core reason for starting Solei isn’t to offer yet another social event in New York. There are far too many. I go to them—for the unique experiences, for the Instagrammability, for the hope of making friends. And still, I feel alone.
Here, I want to create a space where one feels comfortable and seen.
It’s not built on an otherworldly experience. It’s not meant to provide networking opportunities. It’s not about listening to panels of so-called successful voices.
It’s a place for conversation.
A genuine conversation.
One that makes us feel relaxed and cozy, where we can drop the armor we wear to cocktail happy hours. Where we take our shoes off, put our phones down, maybe hold onto a soft pillow and a warm drink, and ease into the company of others and the physicality of being present.
