First event with our new friends NYC Coffee Festival and it was a blast 🔥
Congrats to the very first Planet Oat 2v2 champions, ev & Emma 🏆🏆

09/20/2026

We’re bringing some noise to NYC Coffee Festival with a brand new team latte art competition.

Saturday, October 3 · Post BK, Brooklyn

16 teams. 2 baristas per team. One bracket. Winning duo takes home $1,000 and becomes our first-ever Duo Champions in this format. First Pour at 230pm

Every round is poured with Planet Oat 🌾

How it works:
Each barista pours one cup. Two cups per team. The two cups must be different patterns (two of the same design = automatic loss). Both cups get presented together and judged as a set, not as two separate pours.

It’s not 2017 anymore, where a stacked tulip could take home a throwdown win.
-
This is a new era of latte art. A seahorse doesn’t cut it, you need a layered swan just to stand out. That’s exactly what Alex brought to pull off a win at a stacked, grueling ESOM Throwdown. Congrats to Alex! Five years of competing, and this is his moment. 🎉🥳 🥇

Blanche Tan Buenaflor showed up and showed out all night, like she always does. Outstanding second place performance 🥈

Only his second ESOM Throwdown, and Nicholas Leung makes it to the winning circle. 👏 🥉
