Our popular window displays looking out onto 8th Avenue feature our latest fondant creations, and inside the bakery you’ll find other examples of our custom-designed cakes for every occasion. Our cake consultants can help you build your dream cake for any of life’s celebrations, large or small. Everything served at Empire Cake is made fresh daily on the premises using the finest ingredients, including fresh butter and cream from quality local producers, pure whole vanilla beans, Belgian chocolate, and fresh seasonal produce from the Union Square Greenmarket. We are located at 8th Avenue and 15th Street, where the West Village, Chelsea and the Meatpacking districts collide—and just two blocks from the High Line, providing the perfect opportunity to grab some delicious treats and coffee for a picnic in the park. We were thrilled to learn Isaac Mizrahi chose Empire cake as one of his go-to Greenwich Village spots for Air Mail 's City Guide!

We were first introduced to Isaac Mizrahi in the 90's and found his documentary Unzipped so inspiring that we rented it from World of Video on Greenwich Ave so many times that they eventually just gave us a copy.

That copy has been sitting on our bookshelf ever since our last VCR died. But thankfully, Unzipped is being re-released this September—run and see it (hopefully at Film Forum!), then come by for a post-movie treat!
