🍯 LOUKOUMADES (Greek Honey Donuts)
Ingredients
For the dough:
• 1 cup warm water
• 2 ¼ tsp dry yeast
• 1 ½ cups flour
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp cornflour
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 tbsp olive oil
For serving:
• Honey
• Chopped walnuts
• Oil for frying
Method
1. In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes.
2. Add flour, cornflour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until smooth batter forms.
3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
4. Heat oil in a pot. Drop small spoonfuls of dough into hot oil.
5. Fry until golden and crispy.
6. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with walnuts.
