As far as memories go, our favorite ones are always from the summer. Freedom, tan lines, grilled fish, juicy jersey tomatoes, creamsicles, and laughing over backyard dinners with great people. We thought why not kick off this blessed season by combining some of those things to make a new memory to cherish. BYO-tan lines though.

We are teaming up for a special evening with our fave vintage furniture store/interior design team, for an evening inspired by our shared love for the preservation of great food and design. The ladies of ANGL will be curating a gorgeous dining experience in their backyard using vintage products sourced from their store so we can treat you with a middle-eastern menu filled with grilled vegetables, fruit, herbs, fish and Yemenite breads. Did we mention it's outside in a magical backyard? Link to purchase tix in bio. @ Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

’s grandma rose 🌹

here were a few of her favorite things: patterned wallpaper, chicken covered in saucy susan, crossword puzzles (in pen only 💪🏽), cracklin oat bran (most underrated cereal of all time), and having everyone around her big dining room table to eat without ever sitting down herself. here she is probably calling to see if we we’re hungry.

’s SAVTA SARA ✨🇮🇱

Born in a small village in Yemen as Zihara, her name meant “the dawn” or “illumination” and oh man did she shine bright. She immigrated to Israel in 1949 as part of operation magic carpet (🔮✈️! ) Her black hair was down to her waist (even in her 80s 💁🏻‍♀️ ) although it was usually tightly tucked under a headscarf unlike in this rare photo. Her favorite places were the kitchen or sitting in the window sill waiting for family or friends to arrive so she could feed them. Other things she loved were my saba (👴🏾), dancing to Zion Golan, making jokes and attending any and every wedding/henna she could score an invite to. The only thing she knew how to say in English was “I love you”, because she was all heart and really what more do you need? ❤️
