One of the better restaurants I’ve tried on Long Island recently! If you don’t know I grew up on Long Island and spend a ton of time here visiting my parents and sister! So I am constantly looking for spots that are worth a visit when I’m out on the island.

The James just opened their second location in Garden City and I already know it’s going to be a huge hit. Right on Franklin avenue, the space is beautiful with a large dining area and a big bar up front. They start you off with warm complimentary French bread & butter which really set the tone for the meal to come.

We ordered the following:
1. Tuna crudo
2. Chilean sea bass
3. Steak au poivre
4. Burger
5. Charred broccolini
6. Banana crème dessert

We visited on a weekday and the place was packed! So be sure to book a reservation if you’re looking to visit.

The Eighty Six the entire meal. This was a top 2026 meal for sure. But specifically the cheesesteak with hot peppers

The Eighty Six and the banana pudding dessert. The perfect bite

mishiessunnyside pies. Literally all of them. I can’t pick a favorite. The key lime, lemon meringue and raspberry crème all have my heart. Cannot wait for the storefront!

Located in the old Frog Club/Chumleys space now comes The Eighty Six

A small intimate setting that’s dark and cozy with only a few dining tables and a small bar for walk ins. We visited on a Sunday at 4:15 and had the best meal. I was wondering if this would live up to the hype and I can honestly say the entire experience was a top for me.

Our server Tyler was above & beyond. These days service is such a huge part of the overall experience and every person at the 86 made sure they were the best of the best.

They start you off with your choice of citrus for your water, which you see across all other Catch Hospitality spots. Something so small that goes a long way in my eyes. Then we got the pickle flight. Another complimentary item that added to the evening. Their wine list was also great, I had a glass of Pinot noir with my steak and it was delicious.

We ordered the following:
1. Potato croquettes
2. Japanese Madai
3. Scallops
4. Creamed corn soufflé
5. Asparagus special
6. Bone in Wagyu strip steak
7. 86 cheesesteak
8. Banana trifle

I 100% want to come back for a special occasion. If you are lucky enough to snag a res do not pass it up. And I definitely suggest trying to walk in for a bar seat! There were a few open when we dined!

The perfect spot to outdoor dine this summer.

Now that the weather is (slowly) getting nicer, outdoor dining is BACK! The back patio has been on my outdoor dining list for sometime and I luckily got to visit with friends a few weeks back. The backyard is relaxed and quaint while serving some delicious dishes. The menu is small but mighty and you can even get many of their popular cocktails that you may have tried at Misi, like their signature Negronis.

While you’re there don’t forget to pick up homemade pastas and sauces to take home for a cozy night in. But go enjoy the outdoor backyard while the weather is nice!

We ordered the following:
1. Chicory salad
2. Negronis & Gin Fizz’s for drinks
3. Chickpea Farinata
4. Mozzarella in Carroza
5. Artichoke sandwich
6. Sausage sandwich
7. Simple ravioli
8. Ramp linguini
