Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria is a restaurant, market, salumeria, bakery and restaurant dedicated to quality products.

This "simple convivial spot that tastes just like Italy" feels like a "village inside-a-restaurant". While the Alimentari sells housemade salumi, freshly baked bread and an ample assortment of imported and domestic items, the open kitchen looks out onto a rustic dining room with communal tables and long marble w**e bar. A seasonal menu by Chef Justin Smillie features salumi/cheese boards, small sharing plates, fresh pastas and roasted meats and fish from a rotisserie and wood burning oven. The upstairs private dining loft, adjacent to a roof garden and overlooking the main restaurant and market, is available for parties of up to 50 people for cocktails and/or a seated dinner. Whole fish under sea salt and roasted short ribs or porchetta are house staples often served family style as are the housemade gelato tastings. Our store is open all day, 7 days a week for the hours listed above. Specific Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner hours are as follows:

Join us Tuesday, October 20 from 3–5 PM at il Buco Alimentari for a special Cicchetti takeover with chef and author Woldy Reyes.

Drawing inspiration from recipes in his latest book, In the Kusina, as well as Alimentari classics, guests will sample the entire Cicchetti menu as passed small plates, including tinapa tonnato on house-made potato chips, longganisa arancini with tamarind, 7UP barbecue quail and more. Signed copies of his latest book will also be available for purchase.

From Ibiza to New York🔥

On September 27, Chef José Catrimán of Ibiza’s La Granja joins us for a double feature: il Buco Pig Roast by day, followed by a five-course dinner at Alimentari by night.

Born and raised in Patagonia, José’s cooking is rooted in the parrilla traditions of his upbringing, where heat, time and smoke bring seasonal ingredients to life.

Expect a menu of fire and sea—from red prawn crudo with tomatillo to chitarra neri all’aragosta, red snapper with escalivada peppers and more.

A longtime friend of Donna’s and supporter of Bottega il Buco, we’re thrilled to welcome José to NYC to cook together for the first time.

Join us July 14th for a five-course dinner featuring w**es from Mt. Etna. Each course is paired with w**e by I Custodi, “the Guardians” who’ve spent nearly 20 years farming Etna’s oldest vines. Their w**es carry a savory, mineral depth that makes them some of the most exciting bottles coming out of Italy right now.

On the menu: yellowtail carpaccio with cherries and sea fennel, linguini neri with red shrimp, grilled yellowfin tuna with castelvetrano olives and caper aioli.

Each seat goes home with a mini bottle of Sicilian olive oil and salt.
