Nicola Fedeli began working with pots and pans and stoves in Tuscan kitchens as early as 2000, inspired by his passion for the culinary arts. He attended the Buontalenti hotel school in Florence where he gained awareness and determination conserning his professional future, thanks also to some masters who pushed him to give his best and improve himself. Thanks to this imprinting, Nicola participated in several gastronomic competitions, winning many of them on the strength of an innate ability to always challenge himself.

Un grande che diré !!!! A true legend …. Bon Voyage
Chef Andre Soltner

“This morning, I found myself deep in thought about a lifetime in the kitchen, the people with whom I have worked, and those who I simply had the pleasure to meet. I was wrestling with what we contribute during our careers and what it meant to be good, or even great, not just competent at what we do. A few moments before this lapse in time trying to think about the past fifty-five years of connections with food, I read notice of the passing of Chef Andre Soltner who operated the finest French restaurant in America (Lutece) for 34 years, served as Dean of the French Culinary Institute after passing the torch to the next chef at his world-renown restaurant, and became an inspiration to thousands throughout his career. This, I thought, was the finest example that I could recall of what a chef and a person could be.”

A Word from Aina ……
A Personal Goodbye to Gianfranco Sorrentino

The world of hospitality has lost one of its brightest stars, and we’ve lost a great mentor. Gianfranco Sorrentino wasn’t just the heart and soul behind Il Gattopardo Group—he was a guiding light for so many, including Marco and I.

Gianfranco’s passion for Italian culture, his dedication to excellence, and his genuine care for people left an incredible impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He taught us not just about hospitality but about generosity, warmth, and the true meaning of welcoming others into your world.

His influence shaped our journey, and we will always be grateful for the lessons he shared and the example he set.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the Il Gattopardo team as we all mourn this tremendous loss. Gianfranco, thank you for everything. You will forever inspire us and so many others.

Rest in peace Gianfranco Sorrentino
