For a decade in New York, Porsena took its name from Lars Porsena, the legendary Etruscan king of Clusium (modern-day Chiusi), whose legacy reaches back to the dawn of Italian history.
Ten years ago, Sara Jenkins opened Nina June in Rockport, Maine—a restaurant inspired by the same values that defined Porsena: thoughtful cooking, deep connections to farmers and producers, and the joy of gathering around the table.
Now, this page begins a new chapter.
Through Nina June Retreats, we invite you to experience the landscapes that inspired the restaurant's namesake. Together we'll explore the historic cities of Cortona and Arezzo—both important centers of the Etruscan civilization—while discovering the food, wine, olive oil, and traditions that continue to shape Tuscany today. Along the way, we'll cook together, visit small wineries and artisans, wander medieval streets, and share unforgettable meals rooted in the region.
