Claudio and Linda Marini were co-owners of Barbarini Alimentari & Mercato, located on Historic Front Street in the Seaport, a successful restaurant operating since 2006 until it was completely destroyed by Super Storm Sandy. Claudio and Linda are delighted to reunite with all their old customers and friends in the neighborhood and to befriend many more over Da Claudio’s wonderful food and wine.

28 years ago today, we said “I do” at City Hall and officially became husband and wife. These photos are from the day we made it official, July 17, 1998.

A year later, on August 21, 1999, we celebrated our church wedding surrounded by family and friends. We have always celebrated both.

Two anniversaries, one incredible journey. Grateful for every chapter we’ve shared, from raising our three amazing kids to working side by side every day, and for our shared commitment to never give up on each other or on preserving the love and heart of this family-owned, mom-and-pop business. Every summer we go back to Italy. Every time we come home with something new.

“The markets are overflowing with extraordinary ingredients, sweet apricots, fragrant white melons, cherries, peaches, trombetta zucchini with their blossoms, vine-ripened tomatoes, and the first figs of the season. Their freshness and flavor are unforgettable.”

The meals were just as inspiring. The villas, the long tables, the unhurried evenings with people you love. Across neighborhood trattorie and contemporary restaurants, every chef was doing the same thing, letting the season lead.

“Seasonality is more than using what’s available, it’s understanding when an ingredient has reached its peak and building a dish around it.”
