Confession...I’ve never made a starter before. An avid baker and yet I’ve never ventured into the world of bread making outside of culinary school. There is something undeniably satisfying about taking time to create... well anything really....My starters took over 9 days to get just right. I have friends laughing at me as I talk to these jars of flour and water on my counter and yet I know I’m not alone. As we shelter in place, bread making is on the rise and it seems I’m part of a community of people that want to find comfort in making something out of simple, humble ingredients. It feels like an act of self love.
