Introducing our new Harissa Chicken.

Half chicken marinated in yogurt and harissa, double-roasted, grilled over charcoal, then sliced and served over green tahini and black lentils, finished with a generous spoonful of feta pesto.

5 years ago we signed the lease for Sami (or “the Sus,” as some people are apparently calling it). We thought it would take us about three months to open the doors, and eventually we did — in August 2021.

5 years sounds like a serious amount of time for such a small spot. This August, we’re celebrating with a month-long series of festivities featuring some of our classic dishes, wines, and even a daytime event bringing back the lunch menu from the days when we used to do lunch ourselves (now we have for that purpose!).

Thank you, everyone, for all the love and support along the way. Stay tuned for our new spring v2 menu coming later this week, and for the full summer festivities calendar — lots of fun things in the works ❤️

It’s been a couple of years now since we had the idea to marinate our half chicken in harissa () and Greek yogurt.

We roast it in the oven, let it rest, roast it again, then finish it on the grill and serve it over tzatziki.

It’s now basically our number one-selling dish 🐓
