🌹 Rose Milk Cake Recipe 🌹
This fragrant and indulgent rose milk cake is infused with the delicate flavors of rose and topped with whipped cream, pistachios, and rose petals. It's a perfect dessert for any celebration!
Ingredients:
For the cake:
1 + 1 ⁄2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour (maida) 🌾
1 tsp (4g) baking powder 🥄
1 cup (285g) yogurt 🥛
1 ⁄2 tsp (3g) baking soda 🧪
3 ⁄4 cup (150g) castor sugar 🍬
1 ⁄2 cup (120mL) vegetable oil 🌻
1 ⁄4 tsp kewra extract 🍃
1 tbsp (15g) Rooh Afza 🌹
Red food coloring (optional) 🔴
For the Soak:
1 ⁄2 cup (153g) condensed milk 🥛
1 ⁄2 cup (115g) sour cream 🍶
1 + 1 ⁄2 cup (360g) milk 🥛
4 tbsp Rooh Afza 🌹
For Topping:
Whipped cream 🍦
Chopped pistachios 🌰
Dried rose petals 🌹
Gold leaf (optional) ✨
Instructions:
1️⃣ Make the cake:
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a 9x13-inch rectangular pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix yogurt and sprinkle baking soda on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes to foam.
Add the castor sugar, oil, Rooh Afza and kewra extract to the yoghurt mixture and whisk until combined.
Sift the flour and baking powder, then gently fold into the batter until there are no lumps. Add a few drops of red food colouring for a pink tint, if desired. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
Bake at 180°C for 30-35 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
2️⃣ Soak the milk:
While the cake is in the oven, mix the milk, crème fraîche, condensed milk and Rooh Afza in a bowl until fully combined.
3️⃣ Assemble the cake:
After the cake is baked, allow it to cool slightly, then cut the top off to create a flat surface.
Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, tilting the pan so that the liquid is evenly absorbed. Refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the cake to infuse with the flavors.
Once set, remove the cake from the pan.
4️⃣ Garnish and serve:
Top the cake with a generous layer of whipped cream.
Sprinkle with chopped pistachios, dried rose petals, and a touch of gold leaf for decoration.
Serve chilled with a little extra milk on the side!
