COMMUNITY | Entrepreneur and cultural organizer Fred Raphael / Raphaël is bringing back the Creole Image Honors Awards, a celebration dedicated to recognizing leaders, artists and changemakers making a positive impact in the Haitian and Caribbean community.
Raphael, known for blending food, culture, finance, art and community work through his businesses and nonprofit efforts, has spent more than a decade creating spaces where people can connect through music, culture and entertainment. Through Creole Image, he has also focused on supporting grassroots organizations in Haiti while highlighting pioneers whose work strengthens the community.
The 2026 Creole Image Honors Awards / CreoleImageHonors will take place Saturday, June 20, at The Newark Museum of Art in Newark, New Jersey. This year’s honorees include Dr. Charnette Frederic, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Yve-Car Momperousse and Patrick Eugene, with Carel Pedre and Tico Armand hosting the evening. Sounds will be provided by Gardy Girault and DJ OK.
The event continues Creole Image’s mission of using culture, recognition and community gathering as a platform to celebrate excellence and inspire collective impact •
