Strawberry-Topped Chocolate Rose Cake 🎂🍰
Full Recipe:
Ingredients:
Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Chocolate Ganache:
8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup heavy cream
Buttercream Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Decoration:
Fresh strawberries
Chocolate curls or shavings for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract; beat on medium speed for two minutes.
Add Boiling Water: Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour into prepared pans.
Bake: Bake for about 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool: Cool in pans for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
For Ganache: 7. Heat Cream: Heat heavy cream until it begins to simmer; then pour over chocolate chips in a bowl. 8. Mix Ganache: Let sit for 5 minutes then stir until smooth.
For Buttercream Frosting: 9. Beat Butter: Beat butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar alternating with vanilla extract and salt.
Assembly & Decoration: 10. Layer Cakes: Cut each cake layer horizontally to create four layers in total. 11. Spread Ganache: Spread ganache between each layer as you stack them back together. 12. Frost Cake: Cover entire cake with buttercream frosting using an offset spatula for a smooth finish. 13. Decorate: Arrange fresh strawberries and chocolate curls or shavings on top. Add chocolate roses as the centerpiece.
